A commonly agreed view on transalpine transport is an important step towards common solutions in transalpine transport policy. No doubt, the Alpine countries do not always follow the same strategies and sometimes have different aims. However, discussions on different goals turn out to be very difficult, if they are based on a different view of reality. The working group of mobility in the Alpine Area succeeded in obtaining commonly agreed data and thus share a common view of the reality concerning Alpine crossing transport.

The following pages give an insight into the method, the work and the results of data collection within the Zurich group.
